About the Foundation
The Obicare Charity Foundation (registered with the Corporate Affairs Commission, RC: 7804394) is a non-profit organization born from a deep-rooted commitment to social justice and community empowerment. What started as a vision has grown into a powerful movement, and we are proud to have empowered and provided support for over 10,000 people across Nigeria. Our work is a testament to the belief that with the right support, communities can build a better, more resilient future.
Through a wide range of projects, we address the most critical challenges facing underserved communities. In education, our initiatives have equipped schools with learning materials and technology, and our scholarships have opened doors for deserving students to pursue their academic dreams. Beyond this, we have led numerous community welfare projects, from clean water initiatives to skills acquisition programs, all designed to foster self-reliance and dignity.
The Obicare Charity Foundation was established by Elder Engr. Obinna Agwu Odum, a dedicated engineer and the CEO/MD of Obod Global Concepts Ltd, a leading firm in the petroleum sector. As a philanthropist with a deep passion and empathy, he founded the Obicare Charity Foundation to address urgent needs and empower communities. Our work would not be possible without our incredible network of volunteers. These selfless individuals are the heartbeat of our foundation, giving their time, skills, and energy to ensure that our programs run smoothly and reach the people who need them most. Together, we are building a legacy of hope.

Meet The Founder / Chairman Board of Trustees
Elder Engr. Obinna Agwu Odum
Elder Engr. Obinna Agwu Odum, born on November 24, 1976, into the modest but respected family of the late Elder Chief and Elder Mrs. Odum Agwu of Asaga Ohafia in Ohafia LGA, Abia State, is a man of humble beginnings whose life reflects discipline, integrity, and an unwavering commitment to service. He began his early education at Amaetiti Primary School, Asaga Ohafia, before proceeding to Coronata Secondary School, Asaga Ohafia, where he graduated in 1994.
Driven by a passion for knowledge, he gained admission into the Department of Petroleum Engineering at the University of Port Harcourt, graduating with distinction in 2001. He further advanced his academic pursuit in the same institution, earning a Master’s Degree in Gas Engineering in 2009. Beyond his formal education, Elder Engr. Odum has acquired several professional certifications, including Project Management (British Project Professionals) and HSE Competence (Nigeria Institute of Safety Professionals). He is a Corporate Member of the Nigerian Society of Engineers, a Member of the Society of Petroleum Engineers, and a registered Member of the Council for the Regulation of Engineering in Nigeria (COREN).
With over two decades of professional excellence, he has distinguished himself in the engineering sector with exceptional skills, innovative problem-solving abilities, and an unyielding “can-do” spirit. His career has been marked by quality service delivery, earning him commendations and respect across the industry. His passion for growth and leadership culminated in the establishment of OBOD Global Concepts Ltd., a leading player in the petroleum sector, where he currently serves as CEO/MD.
As a compassionate philanthropist and advocate for human and community development, he founded the Obicare Charity Foundation—a platform dedicated to empowering the less privileged, promoting youth skills acquisition and entrepreneurship, supporting women empowerment, advancing gender equality, and fostering social justice and community upliftment. Known for his humility, accessibility, and empathetic leadership, Elder Engr. Odum is celebrated as a man with a listening ear and a human face. His love for people, young and old, is unmatched.
His proven track record of honesty, intelligence, and trustworthy leadership was recognized by the Governor of Abia State, His Excellency Dr. Alex Otti, who appointed him the Director General (DG) of the Greater Ohafia Development Authority (GODA). In this pivotal role, he is now actively transforming Ohafia through strategic development initiatives under GODA, complementing the grassroots impact he achieves through his philanthropic work with the Obicare Foundation.
He is widely recognized as a promoter of peace, unity, and even development. His open-door policy, warm demeanor, and commitment to inclusive dialogue have endeared him to many, making him not just a leader but also a mentor and friend to those who encounter him.
